thanksgiving in rwanda

we repaced turkey with chicken as our hosts found turkey to be be really expensive and not enough meat in previous years, but mixed with homemade fried onions for the greenbean casserole, and a can of cranberry sauce we brought from the was pretty close to the real deal! we were thankful for all the effort these non-americans put out for us to be able to celebrate this holiday! we also got a taste of how hard it will be to spend holidays away from our family and friends.
